Abstrakt:

In our modern life we use energy for almost all things we do. At present we can very roughly divide our world energy consumption in four main areas, each using about 25%; heating/cooling buildings, transport, electricity and feedstock for products. These energy systems are developed from source to service. Nowadays we realize that energy efficiencies for these systems are very low, we only use about 2% of all our energy useful. Besides we recognize that the sun is a powerful and infinite source of energy. However, it is not as concentrated and easy to handle as our fossil fuels. Therefore we have to develop our energy systems in a fundamental other way, from service to source using the energy around us. It needs a complete re-thinking of our energy systems, a paradigm shift. That implies that our future energy system will be fundamentally different from our present energy system. We will show, test, develop and research these future energy systems at the Green Village.
